Destination Guide - Champoluc
Guide to Champoluc
Unlike larger tour operators, Ski 2 has made the decision to specialise in just one Italian ski resort. This decision was made with your interests specifically at heart. At Ski 2 we believe nothing about your holiday should be left to chance. By concentrating our resources in just one resort, we can offer the best possible standards of care and service. For example, we have dedicated staff team (managed on-site by one of the co-owners of Ski 2), excellent local area knowledge and have built a solid reputation with the locals, many of whom who have become our good friends.
What attracted us to the Monterosa ski area? The principle deciding factor was the lack of crowds. We can only speculate on why such an extensive ski area are so little known to anyone but the local Italians, but our hunch is that they just want to keep it to themselves! The quiet slopes certainly delight our clients, who often return year after year to avoid the queues found in other European resorts.
Champoluc is a charming, traditional alpine resort situated in North West Italy in the Aosta Valley. For a relatively small resort is has a remarkable range of quality accommodation and access to over 200 km of extremely scenic and well maintained pistes.
Although not particularly well known, Champoluc is very popular with Italian weekenders who drive from Milan and Turin to use the three lift-linked resorts of Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna. The acclaimed Monterosa ski area rises from the resort to a height of 3,500 m. Downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing are all available and, for the more adventurous, there is a great variety of off-piste terrain.
Ski 2 and Champoluc have been featured in a number of recent national newspaper articles including the following ..................
